A specialist manager in formation

Systematic investing in mining and metals.

We combine mining expertise, proprietary data and predictive models to evaluate companies and commodity markets.

01 / Why mining

An industry shaped by assets and decisions.

A mining company can own producing mines, development projects and exploration assets. Each has its own geology, economics and timeline.

Management decisions matter throughout. A new project, acquisition or financing can change the value of the business and what shareholders ultimately earn.

Projects and operations
Exploration, permitting, construction and production can change an asset’s prospects well before the full effect appears in earnings.
Management and capital
Funding choices, acquisitions and asset sales reshape a company’s portfolio, balance sheet and ownership.
Commodity markets
Mine output, processing and trade flows affect supply. Demand and inventories help determine what those changes mean for prices.

02 / Investment approach

Physical evidence. Investment judgment.

We study changes in physical operations and company economics, then assess how much is already reflected in market prices.

Assets, earnings and value.

Our research brings operating histories and company events together. Predictive models examine production delivery, project progress and the financial consequences for shareholders.

Industry experience informs the assumptions. Valuation accounts for costs, financing and ownership, including the effect of new shares on existing investors.

Supply beyond the mine.

We examine mines, processing plants and trade routes alongside demand and inventories. Independent observations help us study conditions between company reporting dates.

Metals and related energy markets form part of the research. Investment exposures remain subject to the agreed mandate.

From research to a position

Expected return is weighed against downside, trading costs and financing. Position sizes and hedges must fit available liquidity and portfolio-wide risk limits.

03 / People and platform

Built on mining experience.

Founder Toni Zemani co-founded Mining Terminal, a mining-data platform used by institutional investors. He built Zemannite’s research system and leads its data engineering and models.

Specialist research
Asset and company histories, predictive models and portfolio simulations share a common research system. The accumulated data and engineering support repeated analysis across companies and markets.
Portfolio experience
Douglas Orsmond contributes to portfolio construction, risk design and operational diligence. He has been an analyst and deputy manager of Craton Capital’s precious-metals fund since 2006.
Preparing for launch
The operating plan funds specialist data and research development, with a separate risk/COO role. Launch requires prospective evidence, executable liquidity and legal and service-provider approval.

Zemannite is in formation. The paper strategy is not yet active; six to twelve months of decisions recorded before their outcomes are required before investor capital.
